My Journey: From Psychology to Blogging
Hi there and welcome!
I’m Kat and I write Tons of Goodness to help others find simple ways to build a happier and healthier life. I am passionate about fitness, healthy eating, mental health, and enjoying the little things in life. I am grateful that I am able to write this blog and that you are here to read it!
I love to research and learn new things every day.
Professionally, I am a nationally certified school psychologist and have spent over ten years working with preschool age children. My education and background are in psychology, education, and research. I entered the field of school psychology to support children’s ability to learn and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. I recently left this career to spend more time with my family and to begin a career in writing and photography. This was a long, scary, exciting process that I will make sure to talk about in a future post. I of course still have a strong interest in child development and mental health, so I hope to provide information for families through this blog as well.Â
In the area of food I would say I follow primarily a paleo or primal diet, but I am flexible and I don’t think that there is one way of eating that fits everyone.
I don’t identify with one particular way of eating or diet, and have tried most diet plans out there. I have counted calories, tracked macros, carb-cycled, fasted, and completed “cleanses.”
I love creating fresh, seasonally-inspired meals that showcase quality ingredients in a unique, approachable, and beautiful way!
When it comes to my favorite foods, I don’t discriminate. I eat a little bit of everything, and it is my goal for this site to be a true and accurate depiction of that. You’ll find recipes from all ends of the spectrum: weeknight dinners, healthier and lighter dishes, pastas, comforting soups and stews, breakfasts, indulgent desserts and pastries, drinks, and side dishes.Â
